Damnation Alley,
I don't like the genre racing game. However, this game is nice. The main game is not too hard.(Not die too easily.) The features of the main game are quite complete and all features can be seen on the "Damnation Alley" title screen. There is an easy/medium/hard function. A clever design is a simple space invader game. Players can play this space invader game before playing the main game(the racing game). The full screen mode is not a real full screen mode. It is only a windowed mode without window border.
Viva Mortis,
It is a quite good game. It should be hard to make an isometric game. Is it correct? The player's character is very big. The big size generates good experiences for gamers. The colours were also used well in the game. The movement of the player's character can easily be controlled. A clever design is the "Continue" function. I only played five games so far. Viva Mortis should be the best game.
So far, Viva Mortis > Damnation Alley > Simple > Jack Deadly> Arc of Valtana

About Fireball Dungeon, it is a browser game. I can play the game on a very old Opera browser without any problem. I don't know how to describe. The player's character dodges fireballs. Fireballs hit metal bars. Metal bars change to coins or keys finally. Passive gameplay, but this is not a problem. The problem is that the movement of this character is slow. The game may become a boring game. After you play it, you may have the same feeling.
Viva Mortis > Damnation Alley > Simple > Jack Deadly > Arc of Valtana = Fireball Dungeon

I have tested The Big Dark Adventure. This entry will surprise everyone because it is a text adventure. There are some still pictures in this entry. I doesn't look down on the genre text adventure. When I played this game, I noticed that the story was really gripping. After player types "help" and inputs, the interface will display all commands of the game. Good for players to learn how to play. Pictures look like pictures drawn by a child and texts look like written texts. An interface problem happened. Some texts could not be seen at the right ends of some rows.
Viva Mortis > Damnation Alley > Simple > Jack Deadly = The Big Dark Adventure > Arc of Valtana = Fireball Dungeon

ZX Collection Volume 1 is a good entry. This entry consists of four small games. All these 4 games are nicely made. Graphics of this entry are fascinating. I like the entry, sure. Viva Mortis and ZX Collection Volume 1 are rivaling for the first place in the contest!

Tiny Tale, this is a very special entry. The reason is that I don't know what I should do in this game. There is no detailed instruction for helping player to play this game. It is an adventure game. I can only control the character to walk or talk to some characters. These are the only things which I can do in the game. Though graphic quality is ok, the size of the player's character is very small. All items are actually small.(8x8 or 16x16, I am not sure which one)

The sizes of the characters / objects, back in those days, were either 8x8 or 16x16. Video RAM was limited so smaller is better. Animations were only a few frames. I agree about the lack of instructions. Most "adventure" games will lay out the plot, objectives and controls. In this case, I would guess, that the creator may have been pressured by time and worked on getting the main part of the game completed in time....
Text-based adventures, written in Basic, can be take the creator a LOT of time to make. It must be even harder when including graphics / animations and sound... Ah. It's a brave person who takes on a project like these...
Coffee time!

Good comments for them. Yes, really good comments. Ha....I almost give up writing comments for the entries but I have tested nine of them. Tiny Tale, an adventure game doesn't have a story. It is ridiculous, It is not a 72-hour game jam. There were eight weeks or nine weeks for them to develop their entries. The text adventure might be made in Blitz3D. Making a text adventure may not be a correct decision for game development contest. Most modern gamers don't like this type of game. Oh...have you finished testing all of them already? What is your: > > > > > > > so far? I am very busy again in this week! Too bad!

Tiny tales was hard to look at, I didn't play it long enough to get the jist of anything. Fireball dungeoen I actually liked till the third level where the firebal wouldn't hit the bars to unlock a key so I just sat there for a couple minutes got bored and exited, was fun until then, the upgrades inbetween the levels was a nice touch (you can make your character move much faster). Gravitus was fun and the controls were spot on, allowed for some quite awesome fast strafing under obstacles to rescue the pixelated peeps. Will try the others maybe tonight.

Good comments!!! "Tiny tales was hard to look at"........I totally agree with you. It is strange. Gravitus is nice! Fireballs Dungeon should be ok but still needs improvements.

Tiny Tales. What can I say about this Godot creation?
Firstly. I agree about the diminutive size, but this is what a lot of the "old school" games looked like. I believe that this is one of the things the judges will be looking for.
Secondly. I'm not a big fan of of RPG's but that is no fault of the game itself.
Thirdly. A potential glitch! Found the dagger and proceeded to make "short work" of the monsters and gathered some serious heath points as a result. Finally found the entrance to the forest and recovered the broken shovel and amassed some more health. Returned the broken shovel to the blacksmith. Shovel repaired. Obtained the shovel. Then figured I would return to the "Inn" for some rest. WRONG! All those health points that I gathered were reduced to 23 (I had just over 300!!)
Figured I had enough game time with Tiny Tales and proceed to quit... Wait... ESC does not work... "Q" does not work. Mouse over "top" panel does not work. No instructions as to "How to Quit". Maybe I missed something... I eventually had to logout of my session and re-log in.
Although the game is well made, the problems I had with exiting and health, were a big turn off.

If you somewhen are brave enough to try out my entry then make sure to use the most recent version v1.0.2 of Genus Prime: Especially if you are using Linux or Mac as there are some bugfixes for these platforms included. www.gamezworld.de/files/GenusPrime_v1.0.2_LinuxMacWindows.zipAlso make sure to try out the latest versions of each entry - especially if you encounter bugs. Why? There was a "1-week-for-bugfixes" given and your direct download links here might point to outdated versions. Have fun Ron
