I have a question now. Is this game running on different CPUs at the same pace? Will it run faster on Ryzen and slower on Core2Duo E8400? RCBasic is vertically sync'd so it runs at 60FPS, so 60 cycles per second. If the game runs at the 60FPS on everyone's machine it will most likely run the same on all machines.
Everyone just run that and see what your FPS is my laptop is pretty slow its a 13 5100, and it ran it fine 61FPS. RCBasic is quite quick, I haven't had much trouble in that area.

Mine varies from between 59 and 61 fps but mostly sits on 60.

You explain well! Thanks a lot, yes!

From 58 to 60 frames per second, the CPU is E8500!

Cool titles!
I'm impressed... I only came up with one... lol
I am torn between #2 and #10
So as not to upset any copyright laws, I figured it might be a good idea to 'check these title out'..."
#1 "UFO Movie" - A lot of ufo movies - but should be ok for a game #2 "UFO Hunters" is 2006 US TV series #3 "UFO Warrior" is a motorcycle helmet attachment - the visor or peak #4 "UFO Files" is also a 2004 US TV series #5 "UFO 2019" - did not refer to any game titles - should be ok. #6 "UFO Incident" - A lot of ufo "Incident" videos - but should be ok for a game #7 "UFO Attack" is part of the Palm Beach County Library game system #8 "Aliens vs Turret Gun" - according to Google - should be ok. #9 "Panic Attack" is actually the title for a movie/game made in 2010 #10 "Attack! Attack!" is the name of a Welsh Rock band... and also a game "Pearl Harbor: Attack! Attack!"
As I mentioned before, my choice would be either, #2 or #10... After searching I would probably lean towards #5 "UFO 2019".
What do you think?

#2 and #5 may be too ordinary. #10 is very different from the two previous names. When gamers see the name #10, many of these gamers will want to play this game as soon as possible. It is because this name is quite interesting. Right? This name easily excite them.
However, the final decision should be made by you. #2, #5 and #10 are okay names actually.
I have one more question now. Why flying objects only come from left side to right side? Why no flying object comes from right side to left side? May this phenomenon be strange?

Ok #10 sounds good...
I had thought of doing multi-directional ufo's... At the time I was thinking clearly for a change... lol After a couple of days, the old grey cells got to thinking, "Do I really need the extra work?". Then proceeded to code for "left to right" and hope that nobody would ask about "right to left"... Oh. But hang on. Someone has asked... lol
Well it looks like I'm going to have to sharpen the pencil and figure out how to do this... I suppose the positive view would be, seeing the ufo's are circular, I won't have to create new sprites... lol

UPDATE: Program name changed to "attack". As per suggestion: UFO's now have either "left to right" OR "right to left" movement at startup. Just to make it a bit harder, as with the speed change when a UFO is destroyed, you guessed it, the direction is also randomized... Moo Ha Ha... Let me know if there are any, I won't say 'errors', let's just call them 'random features', or if anyone has something else to suggest? attack.zip (147.7 KB)

Let me know if there are any, I won't say 'errors', let's just call them 'random features', or if anyone has something else to suggest? Ok...I have tried this new version! No bug. Good! Now I have another serious question. The speed of the turret gun may be slow. When I use the keyboard to move it, it moves slowly. As a result, this game may be not entertaining enough for ordinary gamers. Therefore, I change the code with PlayerSpeed=4. Wow, the game becomes a quite exciting action game! Therefore, I really think that you can consider to change this PlayerSpeed to 4. Most gamers wants their weapons to be able to move quickly.

I tried "4" on my machine and it was too fast... lol I would press the left or right arrow key and the turret would be on the other side of the screen before I could blink. I tested "3" and it was still fast but playable... Maybe it's just me... getting too old... lol
I had also considered applying friction to the turret... Add a bit of difficulty in the sense that the player maybe moving quickly but it will take time to slowdown enough to reverse direction... but probably not...

Maybe it's just me... getting too old... lol May it be because of the different actual sizes of monitors?(different inches) Anyway, ordinary game provides setting screen at the beginning for gamers with different degrees of abilities to adjust settings. Otherwise, some gamers may think that the game is too hard or some gamers may think that the game is too easy. May it be too hard to make a setting screen at the beginning in this game? (Allow them to choose 1, 2, 3 and 4) The above feature may need a lot of time to finish, so I suggest not to make the above feature.

Hey Johnno, your computer seems to be quite a bit better specs than mine, but I will look at the runtime code when I get a few hours this week. TBird already mentioned this, but the update function is vertically synced. What is your monitor's refresh rate?
