Yes if you interested ask Cyb. What i know is that some of external game libraries not work same on windows and on linux.
For myBasic ..i am not sure if is just tokenized interpreter or is bytecode interpreter.
Because of way how is written (very strange to me even i am not C programmer) it looks that is not very fast.

Anyway, Retrogamecoding forum's members do not look too enthusiastic, the futures of the author's softwares will be quite uncertain.

Quick question. Would I be correct in assuming that the move from Allegro 4.4 to SDL2 is because AllegroBASIC does not 'play well' with Allegro 5? Just curious...
Though I can not answer this for the author, I can make an assuption. If indeed allegro moved from "software rendered" to hardware pipeline then the exact term is it moved from opengl immediate mode (or legacy) which meant the programmer had tools to immediately show grapics on the screen with setting options about lightening and camera to core mode where the graphic described is filtered through five steps called shader programs of which two have to be written by the graphic programmer him/herself and puts a requirenment on understanding a lot of mathematics. Basically history has it that core mode was hidden below immediate mode and at opengl 3+ was layed open with immediate mode being deprecated. Well that is the history of opengl.

Hi, y'all! I am the author of AllegroBASIC. The problem with Allegro 5 is that it is event based while Allegro 4 uses a BASIC like mainloop. So it is easier to use SDL2 - namely my Pulsar2D framework - for a HW accelerated output since it also uses the mainloop approach. The calculations of the interpreter won't be faster though - it is actually the same My-BASIC core of Wang.

Cybermonkey, have a look at Raylib (https://www.raylib.com/). Old-school, easy to use. One single dll or so file with no extra dependencies (you can simply provide it with your interpreter). I was able to use it with C, Go, Euphoria and Newlisp - www.naalaa.com/community/showthread.php?tid=164

Hello, may I ask a question? Will PulsarBASIC.ga become the new URL if PulsarBASIC is finished?

If the author can add new and good features to AllegroBASIC(or PulsarBASIC) each year, many people will be willing to use it.

I know I downloaded and installed it about 4 to 5 years ago and eventually got it to run on Linux but it looks like I no longer have the file. If memory serves correctly, that was Allegrobasic version 4, which used SDL1.2. Allegro 5 would not run on Linux at the time because Allegrobasic 5 used SDL2.0. Since then, it looks like the website, has fallen of the planet as has the file... I will search through some of my old drives and DVD's but do not hold your breath waiting... lol I have my doubts... lol
