I believe you...
Reminds me of the old saying, "It's not whether you win or lose" ... well - for 'me' it's lose - but for everyone else, "it's "how" you play the game". As long as you did your best and you had fun doing it, then in "my" book, that's "not" a failure...
In 1890, the poet Rudyard Kipling and later in a 1939 movie, one line is still quoted today... "You're a braver man than I Gunga Din."
My guess is that you ran out of time? If so, you are no longer constrained by time, no longer under pressure to finish. Take as much time as you need to finish then post it so we can all see the results. I "did" say no pressure, right? lol

Ha. That's why I as a nerd exist... To amaze others with my seemingly pointless trivia... Probably compensating for the fact that I may be lacking in a personality... lol Logic is the beginning of wisdom...

Don't worry! There will be a lot of other contests starting in this month! Tbird can select one and join it. itch.io/jams/starting-this-month/sort-dateJohnno56 and Tbird may form a dream team! Moreover, this entry may be very competitive and very successful.

tbird, hopefully you will still finish the game and post it. Like johnno56 said, you are no longer constrained by time. Game Jams are tough. I have entered 4 but only finished an entry in 2 of them.

I will for sure, when I get home I will even upload how far I didn't make it lol, to show you where I was the night before the jam ended. The idea was really simple so I should be able to finish it fairly easy after some extra time.

Well... apart from being obviously incomplete, the movement and "camera" work was quite smooth. 17 second clip makes for a good "teaser"... Right at the end I noticed the command box... By the way - I like the Geany colour theme - I digress... The game loaded 2 collision detectors, one for a circle and one for a box... There was something I noticed when testing AllegroBasic... It had collision procedures for circles, boxes and a collision for circles AND boxes. Would that be of interest? I only just remembered it... I do not know how well it works as I have not had any need to use it...

Well my framework has box to box, box to circle, box to poly, and circle to poly. So I have all my bases covered.
