This is just a quick update on the next release. I am expecting to have it out by Mid November. I know that is a long ways out but I think it will be worth it.
Here is a list of changes I have currently already implemented:
BUGS *fixed ArrayDim *prevent DrawText from crashing when an empty string is passed to it
In addition there are some new features planned but I don't want to announce anything about them until they are closer to completion.

November you say? Additional features you say? So, until November rolls around, I suppose I am just going to 'try' and guess at what you refer to as 'new features'... Very enigmatic of you...
Let me see... Perhaps a 'barista' function? Coupled with your plans for a physical interface to control our coffee machines... Oh, please say that this will be true?!?
Oh alright. November it is.... But not a month longer... lol
Good luck...

eyfenna drfloyd I have read that and a number of other tutorials. If it was that simple I would have done it a long time ago. That stack overflow post only covers SDL itself. There is also the matter of SDL_mixer, SDL_ttf, SDL_image, SDL_gfx, SDL_net, ogg, vorbis, and theora. Each of these has there own dependency libraries that also have to be linked against. And for some of them, the dependencies have to be built from scratch. Its not that I don't want to as much as it is that I have been unsuccessful in doing it every time I have tried. If anyone is able to static link against these libs and provide me instructions on how you got it to work I would appreciate it.

I am getting closer to the next release. I have made a lot of progress and just wanted to give an update on the new stuff I was talking about.
The biggest new additions in the next release is ports to new platforms. I already have working builds for MAC and IOS. I am still optimizing a lot of stuff on the IOS end but it is looking pretty good right now.
I have also been adding a lot of new stuff to the manual in response to common issues people have had in the forum.
I am still set to post the next release by Mid-November.

Thanks for all your hard work. I believe that the current users will intend to keep on using RCBasic for their future projects so thanks a lot for keeping RCBasic alive and everyone involved! Really great to see on-going development and improvement.
