The two images, that I posted yesterday, seems to be the only 'explanation' as to 'how' it works. As I never got into Machine Code or Assembly, I cannot offer a better answer. Sorry. As an Amstrad user, back then, I just typed in the listing to see what it does, then move on to the next one... *sigh*
