I must say that, the Ogre Engine, is quite impressive. Running under the control of PureBasic is also impressive. Would RCBasic benefit from including this engine (assuming that it 'could' be done)?
RCBasic, as well as SDLBasic, enjoy a select 'niche' when it comes to 2D games. 2D games still have an appeal, but times 'they are a changing'... and most of the Gaming community favour 3D. Larger, faster and more powerful CPU's and graphics cards are making it much easier to play, what I classify, as high end games...
My answer would be yes... and no... lol
Yes. Which programming language would NOT be made better by adding an engine like this? No. 2D games have a 'charm' of their own. Adding a 3D engine could possibly hasten 2D natural end of lifespan. I still enjoy 2D games and probably always will. But, having said that, I also enjoy 3D games too.
If Admin want to add Ogre, then so be it... Who am I to say no? lol
Code on.

If Ogre Engine is inside RCBasic, most SDLBasic users may become RCBasic users. Don't worry. PureBasic's 2D Game Programming sub-forum is active. Some developers are still interested in making 2D games.

Ouch! I am the moderator of the SDLBasic website forum. Are you trying to steal our members? LOL Just kidding...
I enjoy being a member of "both" forums. RC and SDL are so similar. I enjoy converting RC to SDL and SDL to RC... Interesting to compare performance.
RC's Administrator is quite busy with non-rc issues and could take a while to respond to your Ogre suggestion... Just a little patience. I'm sure he will respond soon....
In the meantime... What RC projects are you working on at the moment?

Hey, nothing. I have another suggestion for RCBasic actually. Box2D Engine! Ogre Engine is for 3D games but Box2D Engine is for 2D games! Box2D Engine is in BBC Basic and NaaLaa. If Box2D Engine is in RCBasic, a lot of BBC Basic users and NaaLaa users may become RCBasic users! If Box2D Engine and Ogre Engine are also in RCBasic, RCBasic will in very unique in the world of BASIC languages! Our RCBasic community will be enlarged considerably.

Hmm... Nothing. That's ok. I find times when I do nothing it's a perfect opportunity for coffee.... lol
I've seen Box2D and find it to be quite effective for 2D programs that require "physics". Either or both, Box2D and Ogre, would make fine additions assuming that it can be done of course... Admin would have a better answer for you.
This my opinion and can be taken with a grain of salt... Because RC is primarily 2D, I would prefer to have Box2D added. So as to not cause any bloat, perhaps a separate RCBasic3D... RC + Ogre?

I can honestly say that I don't have enough time these days to learn Ogre, let alone implement its massive API into RC. But Box2D is definitely something I will consider.
But if you guys are interested in 3D, you can use RCBasic's scaling and rotation capabilities to get some cool 3D effects. I have already showed off the Mode-7 capability but I will also post a demo I was planning on bundling with the next release.
