Interesting. Two applications that are compatible with Visual Basic 6 - which was released in 1998. I was never a fan of VB6 but I do remember it being used to code an "In House" help desk where I used to work. Not sure how it will compare to, what I call, normal basic dialects... Time will tell.
Thank you for the links.

RadBasic is a VB6 and VB.NET alternative. There is still a lot of VB6 programs in use but developers don't want to go back to VB6 and most try to avoid VB.NET TwinBasic is reportedly 100% backward compatible for all VB6 forms.
The IDE for TWIN seems to be only Windows which compiles for Windows. Compilation for other platforms are planned... Although the 'compilation' will be for other platforms, there is no mention that the IDE will run on those platforms.
It looks like RAD will only be for Windows. So much for cross platform.
These applications would be useful for those creating applications. I do not make applications, so I cannot say whether or not RAD and TWIN, are particularly good.
That being said... I would like to make applications. But 'for' RCBasic 'using' RCBasic. I have no idea how... But that is what I hope for.

However, I don't know whether these two new BASIC dialects will become the winners in the world of programming languages in the future. Well, I do. The won't be "the winners in the world of programming languages in the future", because they are past-oriented. Again, it's about creating a replacement for an obsolete technology, hoping that it will gain popularity with programmers who used that obsolete technology in the past.

I guess being past oriented is that there is not much available in future programming it seems to me bloated and extremely slow. If you make a programing language as difficult to navigate as you can give everything a fancy name and you have got your self a winner these days . I have been programming since Qbasic was the in thing so that's a while. For myself I think twinBasic is on the right track with a quick and eficient take on vb6 . I hope this IDE progresses well into the future.
