GamesFromScratch (and such websites) are great because they can inspire game writers to try different tools. Encourage newbies to start game design. I don't know... I think the games that we write ourselves, even though they may not be as good as the "top of the line" games, hold a great deal more satisfaction or accomplishment, compared to just grabbing a title off a store shelf... Just think... Most of the popular games out there probably started with, "Hello World".
Canvasing YouTube (or any social media) is always a good idea... When they are asked to review RC, how do you think they will do that? Most will be swayed by "first impressions". If they like what the see then they will spend more time examining RC itself. I do not mean to sound like a "broken record", but we need polished examples for people to examine....
Ok. For those who do not know about records (they were our mp3's BEFORE cassette tapes) Oh. If there are any that do not know about cassette tapes... I'm not going into audio history... Just replace "broken record" with "infinite loop".... There are times that I hate being old... lol
Good ideas and links... Cool...

n00b, I have found your post(which was written two years ago). Oh...they decided not to introduce RCBasic...., I see.
Might be due to several reasons.....
1. Only a few active members were at this official forum. 2. The language lacked essential fundamental features. (eg., custom data type) 3. When compared with other free languages, the download package of RCBasic didn't have abundant examples. (download packages of some free languages have large numbers of example files(eg. CerberusX, NaaLaa, BlitzMax, OxygenBasic, etc.).) 4. The design of the official website(RCBasic.com) might also be a factor. It was a part of the first impression. An attractive design might be helpful to the first impression. 5. Nearly no complete games were written in RCBasic on Itch.
johnno56, It is a good question. The real solution is complicated.
aurel, Checked C. A nice discovery! Good job.

I understand why you are making these comments/comparisons about and with RCBasic. But mentioning over and over again why RCBasic is 'not like' or 'up to the same level' as other types of programs is not the best way to promote RCBasic. My mother always taught us, "If you cannot say anything nice then say nothing."
1. Only a few active members... True. But so does SDLBasic and Naalaa yet you are not telling those sites. 2. Language lacks... True. Just like all the others. If 'every' engine had 'everything' included then we would only need one engine. 3. When compared with others... How can you compare RC with Cerebus and and Naalaa etc? It's like apples and oranges. OpenGL; 3D etc... A fairer comparison would be between RCBasic and SDLBasic... At least they are similar! 4. You are correct about first impressions... It's a simple HTML/CSS website... So, at the time of its creation, I am not sure that be impressive was the main goal... Maybe just getting on-line was a priority. 5. No complete games on itch... Let me remind you of the first point. 'Few active members' translates to 'few games' complete or not itch.io or not... Not really a fair comment. I would agree with you if our membership was larger. But it isn't. It's nasty little loop. We need games and examples to attract more members, but we can't seem to attract more members without games and examples....
RCBasic, at the moment, does not support OpenGL or any 3D type of rendering, neither does it have an integrated tile and map editor. Like SDLBasic, RCBasic is designed to create 2D games and applications. But, what it does do, it does 'really' well. N00b has done an excellent job in getting RC up to it current level.
We are wasting far too much time in promoting the "greater attributes" of other engines and not developing games and applications for the one we already have. Do not get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with talking about other engines, but to the exclusion of our own? How is this helping us to get RC 'out there'?
Maybe my annoyance is fueled by the lack of caffeine... or maybe not...
