This is an attempt to combine parallax demo with a walking demo. The movement of the walker would be smoother with more 'frames'. The layered backgrounds will seem to scroll endlessly. Left and right arrows to "move" and Esc to exit. Before you comment, yes the 'stationary' walker frame is just that, a single frame. Too lazy to draw a 'standing' image... lol It just a test. It does nothing. Purely a concept. Suggestions are welcomed. J parallaxWalk.zip (349.9 KB)

Looks good, and that walker is walking like no one will walk :-).

Yeah. It was a "trade off" between speed of walker and the smoothness of the scrolling... If the walker was slowed to "normal" then the scrolling layers would be too jerky... there is probably a better way to do it, but unfortunately, my lack of familiarity with RCB means that someone with a better skill-set than myself, will know how to fix it... *sigh* J ps: I have used a some free "Kenny" sprites to hopefully improve it a little. parallaxUpdate.zip (335.39 KB)

You are too kind. At the moment, all you can do with it, is look.
I have not tested for a maximum "length" of the layers, but I can imagine that it could make for and interesting "mario-like" game...
I have no "movement" commands (other than left and right). No collision detection (still a bit foggy on that one). No mapping system (to assist with collision).... and no bad guys to kill... *sigh*
Time to test the "length"... lol
