Will our members join it? I don't know. syntaxbomb.com/index.php/topic,6107.msg29032.html#msg29032 (add www.) Choose from one of the following five options and make a game that has a mix of those genres. Option 1 : Tactical / Role-Playing (RPG) Option 2 : Retro / Shooter Option 3 : Puzzle / First Person Shooters (FPS) Option 4 : Escape the room / Beat-em-up Option 5 : Retro / Endless Option 1 and option 3 are very silly options because no contestant will make role playing game or first person shooter in this contest!

Again? I 'still' haven't thought of anything original since the last one... and at my age... I don't see anything changing any time soon... lol I am impressed by those who submitted entries last time by both content and time limit... By the same coincidence, content and time limits, are some of my biggest obstacles... lol
I don't think 1 and 3 are silly... Perhaps with such a short time limit, programming either an RPG or FPS, would be a huge challenge. But you could be right about the lack of these entries... Time will tell... My favourite is #2. I just love shooting and blowing things up!! Cool...
Thinking of something original is my hardest challenge. Come to think of it... The 'idea' may be original but can we say the same for the code? When we started to code, did we use our own idea, or did we follow examples and tutorials that were made by others (that's me...) ? We 'refer to' or 'remember' those examples when we create our own games...
So, it's within the realms of possibility, that only 'one' person coded an original idea... Perhaps it was the Physicist, William Higinbotham, who created what is thought to be the very first video game, Pong. Using parts of that code, other 'bat and ball' games, sprang up... Just a thought...
I need more coffee... I think I am drifting off topic... lol
I will be keeping my eye on 'syntaxbomb' and looking out for some more excellent programs...

Well idea as idea is not bad ,for people who are interested and have time and some knowlege about game programming. By the way on github for example we can found many games examples but mostly written in C/C++ + sdl.opemgl libs....so use it and modify it also is a option(i think) building something from the ground would be huge task not for everyone. good luck....
