I was thinking about the many "change requests", not necessarily with RC, but other languages as well. I asked myself, "Why?" Do not get me wrong, I think change is good, as long as it's an improvement... lol
When I first started using RC, I wanted to see if my SDL games could be converted, mainly to see if I could.... I realized that, in doing so, I was trying to get RC to behave like SDL. As creatures of habit, we all prefer to do stuff, that we find 'comfortable'. I am 'comfortable' using SDLBasic and when converting to RCBasic I suppose that will enable me to be comfortable with RC.... I hope I am making sense? By the way, I am also very comfortable using RC, as it is....
If conversions do not work, then I suppose that is when we suggest 'upgrades' or 'additions'... Eventually, after a sufficient passage of time, RC may very well be almost indistinguishable from the language with which we are most 'comfortable'.
See what happens when I don't get enough coffee? I start to think of weird stuff like this.... lol

I agree with you on this. Its why I have turned down a lot of change request including: - DATA and READ
- Pointers
- Classes
- Sprites
- PEEK and POKE
- GOTO
Its not that I think these features don't make sense in other languages but RCBasic has its own way of doing things. I generally tell people who want RCBasic to be like Blitz/QBasic/Python/etc that they should probably go and use one of those languages.
