Ah... The quality of games... Usually, it's a reflection on the programmer's knowledge of game design, imagination and their actual ability, that determines a quality game. The speed at which these "games" are released is mind boggling... We are not expecting "masterpieces" but we also do expect a "paint by numbers" either. Churning them out so as to earn a few dollars per game is not what I call a profession or career move...
For those of us who are still learning, myself included, need to show these "programmers" a better way of doing things... My parents once told me the old saying, "If a job is work doing it's worth doing well". Point and click, drag and drop game creation in my opinion, is for juniors who are learning, or bone lazy programmers. If they want to earn quality money then they need to produce quality work.
I'm going to stop now before I get angry...

Coffee johnno....no need for anger . I think quality ideas are not that hard, implementing them is another story. I also believe a lot of new dev's love the idea of drag n drop systems, then get choked down with the realization of how restricting it is but scared of actual programming complexity, so they dumb down there game mechanics and ideas until you have another cookie cutter, shallow game. This isn't true for all but I think it happens a lot. A new dev tries a "easy" game maker, gets frustrated then tries a "easy" language then asks themselves wow to move that object took two commands and this language just took 20 to bring up a blank window with the object on it, I am going back to the game maker. I might be talking out my butt here, although I have seen this scenario once and wondered how common it was...?? Speaking of coffee....I have none lol.

Coffee. The magic word for the day! (Well... for 'any' day, actually... lol)
I personally do not have a problem with 'quality ideas'... Mainly because they are SO rare for me... Crumbs. Even a 'good' idea for a game is elusive...
What have you been working on lately? (No. I'm not fishing for ideas... lol) Just curious...
I'm going to scare my empty coffee cup with the threat of a re-fill... Moo ha ha....

I have been busy with my shmup, I have got myself a mic now. Problem being I wasn't happy with performance so I rewrote my rendering and collision engine and I am much more satisfied with the result. My programming help is working on networking and integrating a networking framework into my engine. Other than that...just life in general!!
I think you don't give yourself enough credit, even an adapted good idea could still be a good idea...I mean what game nowadays doesn't borrow from another.

I hope that you find what you are looking for... It will be sad to see you go... But, just in case, the door will be open if you choose to return...
Best of luck.

johnno56, Wow! This is very inspiring. Many programmers should agree with you! tbird, This notion is also inspiring! It is insightful. aurel,I suggest that you use both forums and Facebook. Both worlds are also helpful. No doubt!

Well ..i don't say that i stop visit this forum or any other BASIC( if something is left..yeah). So many people think that BASIC is a some sort of relict and i not agree with them at all, for example many think that stupid python is good for everything damn ..i really hate that freakin programming language.

My mistake. When you said, "See yaa maybe...", I assumed that you were leaving. My apologies.
Well, Basic is kind of old and some may look at it as a relic, but it's NOT dead... I cannot see myself giving it up at all... Python. I've tried python and pygame, but it's going to take a LOT more practice, for THIS little black duck to enjoy it. Some say that it is an easy language to understand... For me, it's a "new" language, and it takes me a LONG time to learn anything "new". I've dabbled in Lua and Love2d, but after all is said and done, I will always have Basic... It's what I am familiar with; I use it more than any other language; I am comfortable using it... After all these years I am STILL learning. I'm not a good programmer, by any stretch of the imagination, but I have fun trying to be...
Code on.
