For me personally, 3 months, is too short of a time to come up with ideas... that's the way I roll... lol
If you guys are serious, then we are all going to have to at least, look at the above examples and choose what we are going to do, or 'think outside the box' and do our own...
There are basically (no pun intended) two ways to attack this competition. Work as a group and submit a single entry or work as individuals and submit multiple entries.
Group: Pros:
Better chance of producing a "polished" product by having each member working on a part of the project.
Group: Cons:
Probably only submitting one entry. Less of a chance to win. (assuming that is our goal...)
Imperative that communication be constant with multiple updates.
If 'everyone' does not do their part... the results would be... not good...
Individual: Pros:
Better chance of submitting multiple entries.
Individual: Cons:
Each individual is responsible for the game they produce.
Possibly a lower chance of obtaining assistance as everyone else is focused or should be focused on their own efforts.
Time pressure on the individual may impact on the quality of the finished product.
Overall Pro: Syntaxbomb has mad it so much easier (for want of a better word) by allowing us to do stuff that any other of their competitions prohibited us from doing.
First: Are we in?
Second: Who is in?
Once the "numbers" are in, then the method or plan of attack, can be worked out.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I find this WAY outside my comfort zone. Kind of terrifying...
But, then again, there is the old saying, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
