From what I saw in The Source, it looks like MicroA, is primarily designed to run on Windows? Do you think there will be a Linux version 'down the road'? Just curious because to be able to see your examples I convert them to run with RCBasic. I use Linux Mint.

I have Wine installed on my system already. I have also downloaded the MicroA source code from GitHub. But I have no idea as to how to compile it...

Aurel, Thank you for the link. Program downloaded and extracted without any problems. I don't think Wine has everything it needs to run your editor correctly. I will try to attach a screen shot. I worked out the first 3 buttons (Load. Save and Compile). Clicking the forth button did not appear to do anything. Clicking 'compile' gave me the following message. No prompt to 'enter path'. I even looked for a config file. It would be interesting to be able to use the Editor but I don't think the Editor, Wine and Linux play very well together. I'm not sure the compiler would have worked. My guess is your editor is 32 bit based. My Linux box is 64. It was a brave attempt... Thank you for your efforts! At least I can still do a manual conversion... It's almost 1:30am and I need to get some sleep. Again. Thank you.

I wouldn't spend too much time trying to fix my problem. I'm kind of used to this happening when trying to run Windows programs. It happens all the time. On a rare occasion a Windows program will run flawlessly; most of the time the program will run but will behave a little weird; some just refuse to install...
I suppose that if the program was "installed" then it may have a better chance... Because the program was "extracted" into a directory, your theory about Wine "not knowing", would seem to be correct... Nice pickup!
It's almost 7:30am and I haven't had my coffee yet! I had better do something about that. Have a great day!

Jonno, WINE is a simple project, so don't expect it to handle Aurel's sophisticated programming skills. You can run modern games or digital audio workstations under it, but getting current working directory? Come on, man. Let's be realistic.

I am detecting either friendly banter or a slight case of animosity toward Aurel. I hope that it is the former because the latter has the potential of not only effecting the relationship of the two people concerned but also has a disestablishing effect on a forum.
In regards to Wine. There are some programs that run flawlessly but the majority do not. After all, unless it is a Virtual Machine, one cannot expect Wine to "be" Windows... lol I have checked the DLL's that Wine can install and the ones that are contained within MicroA are not numbered amongst them. Therefore, unless Aurel has the necessary programming skills to create a Linux application, I am afraid that MicroA will not be running on my machine anytime soon.... lol
Time for a coffee....

I have installed 'PlayOnLinux'. It looks like is creates Virtual Machine events for each program it tries to run. In this case Play is designed to run 'games'. It has a library of pre-defined games to play. I will try to run a windows application. I have my doubts, but it worth a try... I'll get back to you...

I attempted to install several applications into PlayOnLinux. Most failed due to not being able to install the Micro$soft .NET Framework. One application started to install .NET but froze part way through. I installed a "non listed" game (Delta Force Land Warrior) without error. The game executed and ran flawlessly.
PlayOnLinux is a Front End for Wine. I would have to conclude that, unless Wine can install .NET, Micro$oft based applications, will probably not run.
update: Wine can install .NET, using the application Winetricks (already installed), but all of the available .NET versions, via Wine, are 32 bit. That probably explains why .NET would not install using PlayOnLinux...
Oh well. Worth a shot...

Johnno, the problem is a bit wider. Aurel not only doesn't have skills to create a Linux app. He doesn't have skills to create Windows app as well. AurelBasic - abandonned after I discovered a nemory leak (no skills to fix it). Ruben - never passed the alpha stage (no skills to finish it). MicroA - here we go again with a new project. I know that you're a nice guy always trying to find positive side of things, but here you're simply wasting your time.

Thomas Edison was allegedly quoted as saying, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." But I think this one is better suited, "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
