Hellow. I found out rcbasic by pure luck an I feel very happy to. Nowadays all gaming&app languages are masive, mazes, complicated messy thing. I love the old school simple code & light size approach a lot. One thing I miss the most in rcbasic is a way to insert rich text, markdown text, bbcodes text or whatever you may call it. Text that allows several font/styles in a single text, with the feature to have some special tag that works like a link, not so oriented to make hypertext links as to get the ability to launch some code after click in that tagged text. It would make a great complement to the already exiting features for making apps heavily text-based (most of them?). Regards, Belén

Hi Bethleem,
(I would use you proper name, but my keyboard, does not have the "e" with the "stroke" above it... I would be guessing that your keyboard is probably setup for Spanish)
Welcome to our Forum. Accidentally or not, we are glad that you have found us... Cool...
Creation of 'apps', using RCBasic, is beyond 'my' skill level... Our Administrator would be the best person to reply to your request. He is currently working on the release of the next version of RCBasic, so his free time, will be limited. In the meantime, assuming that you are comfortable in doing so, can you tell us a little about yourself and your programming skills?
Again, welcome to the Forum.
John.

This is technically possible to do with the current feature set. Its just the matter of some clever programming tricks. I don't have time right now to code an example of this but you can get the position of text on the screen from where you draw it with DrawText and use GetTextSize to figure out the size area of the link. On mouse click you can open a page in your browser by using the System() function with the appropriate command for whatever operating system you are on. You can get the operating System with the OS() function. You can see the commands to open a page with default browsers here: www.8bitavenue.com/how-to-open-url-in-linux-by-command-line/Like johnno56 said, I am currently busy trying to get this next release up so I won't be around for a whole lot of assistance for a couple more weeks. I will try to get back to this post when I do finally have some time.

No need for the code itself , I get what you propose: map the linkable words so the click position may be read from that map and trigger the code for them. Clever way to go, I will give a try. Perhaps some issues with scrollable text but I think I can manage those.
