I already report garbage in Android - now I have in LINUX. Seems to be drawing on Canvas 2, but why is ClearCanvas not working? In Windows 10 is clean. Attachments:PONGY.bas (7.12 KB)

I'm not seeing any garbage... I loaded the program and ran it. What I could see is a little "fish" shaped guy with tiny yellow eyes slowly spinning around. I will include a screen shot. But a single "frame" is hardly a proper example. This is what I get... I am not sure what you mean by garbage... Do you have a screenshot you can post?

Looks like the garbage is only on canvas 2.

Well... I have to agree... That is definitely garbage... Hmm... What puzzles me is that we are both using Linux yet our results are different. I am formulating a theory. Let us agree that the program that we are using is the same. Also, the version of RC, is the same. Can you see where I am going with this? The only variation seems to be the operating system. For this theory to be correct, then there would have to be, similar appearances of 'garbage' in other programs. If that is the case, then I would suspect the OS's graphics drivers.
Debian-based Linux (MX included) uses free and open source graphics drivers. That is done so as to ensure that the drivers will be compatible with each Kernel update. I do not know if MX will permit proprietary drivers - like NVidia or AMD etc - so it makes it difficult to figure out if it is indeed a driver issue.
But if this is the only occurrence of 'garbage', then all of the 'driver' ideas, go out the window... and we are back to 'square one'. Which leaves us with the two earlier assumptions. The 'program' and 'RC'.
If you are indeed using the program that you posted earlier then we can rule out any "typo". I am fairly certain that you are using the latest version (3.14) of RC. If that is the case then I have pretty much used up my ideas and therefore seem to be wasting our collective time...
This really bugs me... The problem 'looks' like either a canvas or graphics issue... Yet we are using the same program... Just had a weird thought... Are you using an "installed" version of MX or are you using a Virtual Machine? Just curious...
I'm making this worse than it appears, aren't I? Sorry. It's part of the way I think... Ok. So it's a 'lot' of how I think... lol
Unless n00b has some answers, I'm afraid that I may be adding to your problems, and not being helpful at all... *sigh*

I also reported this phenomenon in Android.
These are remnants of what was previously on the screen. It looks littered with canvas 2, and the default is on canvas 0.
After operations on the window, such as change maximization, fullscreen, do you clean your screen automatically?

Usually, whenever I change window settings, I use clearcanvas. Not sure if that is the correct procedure, but it's an old habit...

I asked if it cleans itself, if the content remains ...

Sorry. My fault for not understanding. Here is something weird... I re-ran the program and got the following display. Re-ran it again and it worked fine. Modified program to 'full screen' and it looked normal... until I moved the mouse to the right. Next to the 640x480 program window was the rest of my Desktop window (1920x1080). But, other than these 'quirks', all canvases are cleared on exit. Nothing remains. A little side note: On your screenshot, your little 'fish guy' is blue with yellow eyes. The 'fish' data indicates colours 1,2 and 6 are used. The listing that you posted indicates the colours used are Black, Grey and Yellow. I'm going to assume the difference is the result of 'testing' colours... If not... I am sooo confused... lol

I am not getting this graphical issue on my machine. johnno56 can you provide the source code for the changes you made to produce this error?

But that's just it... I haven't made any changes to the posted code except for modifying the 'window' command to show full screen then reverting back to 'normal'. The image posted was the only time it happened. Tried several times since without graphical corruption. A real head scratcher ...

It's a penguin. I changed the colors.
I meant the opposite problem - undesirable cleaning of the screen in Windows reported, for example here:
How is it with you?

I think we may be on different tracks. Pressing the 'Windows' key? Although I do indeed have a 'windows' key, pressing it has a different function, on my Linux machine...
When the program is running, the only window options are, Minimize and Exit. If I want to maximize I would have to modify the window command in the program...
Ok. Penguin it is... no more 'fish guy'... lol
