Upgraded my Linux Mint 64 bit machine. Downloaded and decompressed version 208. Opened a Terminal and executed rcbasic.sh and received an error message: ./editor: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_stc-3.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryHere is a link of an image of the Terminal. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98357680/Screenshot%20at%202017-01-31%2020-41-20.pngJ

Can you let me know what exactly you upgraded?

I upgraded the entire OS from version 17.2 to 18.0
Reinstalling stuff, for me anyway, is a normal part of upgrading. The usual procedure is to backup the "home" folder. Fresh install of the new version of Linux Mint. Copy back the 'home' folder. That takes care of all the software that was installed locally. Software that was install 'system'wide' has to be reinstalled. I hope that makes some sense...
So to answer your question, everything was upgraded... lol
Did some searching and could not find "libwx" of any kind... Could not find *gtk2u* in the repository. I am curious. Could *gtk2u* be 32 bit?
I hope this helps.

UPDATE:
Ran rcbasic_windows via Wine and it ran flawlessly. Looks like a 'native' problem... lol

'Native' now running. Had to install 32bit versions of: libsdl2-net-2.0-0:i386 and libsdl2-gfx-1.0-0:i386 and lissdl2-mixer-2.0-0:i386 and libsdl2-ttf-2.0-0:i386 and libsdl2-image-2.0-0:i386.
I will keep an eye on it and report back any other difficulties...
This was effective for Linux Mint 18 / 64bit

It was actually better to do that as it gave you up to date versions of those libraries. I will probably keep a download with all the libraries bundled for older systems and a separate download for newer systems.

It was a process of elimination. Ran RC via a Terminal. Took note of the missing library. Installed it. On to the next etc. until everything ran ok. Another error that I missed was to do with the atk library. Installed libatk-adaptor:i386 Everything runs smoothly. J

Another problem has popped up. It's not a fault with RCB *whew*
I had a hard drive failure and had to re-install my OS. (Linux Mint 18.1 64 bit) Previous version of Mint was 18.0
Re-installed RCB (included the libraries in the previous posts) but a new error has presented itself. "./editor: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_stc-3.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Researched error and found that the library, libwxgtk3.0-0v5:i386, needed to be installed as well. The library installed successfully and RCB is now up and running.
I hope this information will be of some use to others.
