n00b is there a way to get an input text field on android through RC, one that would bring up the on-screen keyboard? Or does this need to be done in Javascript?

Look at the "Text Editing" section in the manual. ReadInput_Start() will open the onscreen keyboard and the users input will be stored internally and can be accessed with the ReadInput_Text$() function.
Use ReadInput_Stop() when you are done reading text and the onscreen keyboard should go away.

Awesome n00b, thank you. I am familiar with the readinput functions....didn't realize it was that simple lol. My son made a game in RC and he wants to put it on his tablet and take it to school.

I have been working on fixing issues people have had getting the newer version to build for Android. I will try to put up a link for the android builder for previous versions tonight.
Android builds are the top priority for next release but I am still trying to figure out how to simplify building with Google latest "improvements" to the android sdk.

Well n00b, after reading through posts here, does the android build work at all? The last time I did an android app was way back and it was using a ant project with android studio and it worked great. I am kinda lost on what to do with the latest version.

Currently, it does not work for me in the new or old version. Probably Google changed something ... Maybe if you had the old version and turned off updates, it would work ...

If Google has made changes, you'd thing that they would update the Android SDK... (which seems that the last SDK stable release was August 2021)
