Folder empty. But I built it again as "debug", there also showed something red, but the file was created. Interestingly, the game ROKART on the phone has been installed as MARIOKART (some comedy), unfortunately - again SDL error.

rosy I still can't find out what is causing your issue right now. Can you provide the following: 1. Java Version 2. Android SDK version 3. OS version 4. OS architecture ( 32 or 64 bit)

It started on the newer phone.
In windows 64 10 I have ... I do not know where these versions are checked. commandlinetools-win-7583922_latest, 28.0.3 or 21.4.7075529 \ jdk-8.0.302.8-hotspot \
SparkyLinux 64, versions I need to check ...
I finally got my old 3.13 running on windows and it works on my old phone.

Don't install android sdk through the package manager. You need to download it from the android sdk website.

I downloaded version 3.17 and it won't build again in Linux. Messages in the attachment.

I downloaded version 3.17 and it won't build again in Linux. Messages in the attachment. I tried it in SparkyLinux and got the same error. It is probably an issue with android sdk's compatibility with that distro. It has worked in Ubuntu, Pop OS, and Linux Mint.

But he had built something before, probably version 3.16, but it didn't work on the old phone.
Should it work in Android 5 (API 21)?

By default, it is set to build with API 28 but the MIN_API is 21 so it should.
Try setting the API to 21: 1. Set the DEFAULT_API_VERSION in the init_android_sdk.sh to 21 2. Run the init_android_sdk.sh 3. Inside of the /home/<your_user>/Programs/rcbasic/tools/dist/rcbasic_android, open the rcbasic_android_build.sh and set the DEFAULT_API_VERSION to 21 there. 4. Try to build that and see if it works.
I am going to say again though, I do not know if it will work. If SDL2 supports the lower API version then it should just work.
Try it and let me know.

Since it is not building at all, I have nothing to try.

BUILD_TOOLS_VERSION no need to change? I put on 3.16R2, build works but doesn't work on my phone. And why do you use TAR.XZ on Linux and not ZIP?
And again the name MARIOKART appears, although the name of the APK is ROKART
