I wish you a return to the old order. That the nativity scene would come back once a year, not all year round.

Rosy,
I am going to guess that you are not a fan of Xmas. Celebrate or not, the choice is yours. If your reason is religious, then like Easter, Xmas did not start as a Christian celebration. The celebration of Christmas started in Rome about 336AD, but it did not become a major Christian festival until the 9th century. Similar with Easter. That particular festival was originally Pagan.
Whether you believe or not; Celebrate or not; I will not think any less of you. But will still wish you a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year...

That word is correct. The modern meaning would imply "not Christian". Both celebrations, Xmas and Easter, started as festivals celebrating the arrival of the Winter Solstice and the Spring Solstice. Later on, Christians, adopted and adapted the festivals to represent Xmas and Easter.
It's interesting researching the origins of the things we do... Everything has to start somewhere. Finding out can be fun, surprising and at times unbelievable...
Have a great Christmas and even better new year... I wonder where the 'New Year' tradition started?... Ho! Ho! Ho! or is it Moo Ha Ha... lol

No ... I didn't make it up. The word "nativity scene" (I don't know if it translates well) also has such a negative meaning in Poland. I do not know why. I was misunderstood. The nativity scene in Christmas is ok, it's not good if it lasts all the time in this bad edition.
