I have just tested naalaa. interesting language. fast. generates an independent executable. under linux the editor is unusable because the display fonts are too small. there is a solution in the forum but I preferred to configure using geany. the author seems to prefer the windows version which is more up to date. too bad but I looked at the package, there is the source code and the license is very free. I will watch this language closely and maybe adopt it if the linux version is maintained.

What is it better at than other languages? There is not even an example of the code on the page ... After you install NaaLaa, you will discover a huge number of excellent examples. Not too many people use NaaLaa. It may be because the development team of NaaLaa doesn't promote NaaLaa well.

I have been using Naalaa since version 5. Version 6 (included Tilemap Editor and a Raycast Editor) also had a Linux version. Version 7 Beta (Windows only) is in the process of being developed. It is slightly different to Ver 6, usable, but not totally complete. It is even faster than Ver 6.... At the moment, there is no ver 7 for Linux... yet. The Ver 6 Tilemap editor is being re-written. Hopefully, after some time, the raycaster editor will be done also. Versions 6 and 7 are independent. Both can run. Version 6 has several games (simple and advanced). Version 7's examples seem to be centred around 'features'... (the Ver 6 games would need to be re-written) Rosy. Where is your sense of curiosity or adventure? Anyway watch this instead... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr_UhCX9ta0

you need to know that NaaLaa is not basic or basic -like language at all. I think Nalaa is still a pretty good language. I will say that I think some of the examples were a little difficult to understand the last time I looked at it. In particular the raycasting stuff used some inline assembly for optimization which is great for performance but it was not at all a good example to learn from.

you need to know that NaaLaa is not basic or basic -like language at all. Naalaa means Not An Advanced Language At All. Maybe I should rename version 7 to Nabllaa, Not A Basic Like Language At All.

Hello, you are the creator of naalaa. Is version 7 planned for linux! Yes, but I can't give any date for it at all, I'm afraid. I don't even have a computer with Linux installed currently. I'll start looking at it when n7 is "ready enough", out of beta, on Windows.

Joe2874,
I run with Linux Mint 20.3 and I use Wine to run N7 and it runs very well. If you plan on using Wine, you will probably need to install "Consolas-Font". Otherwise, the text layout of the Theme Editor will be too condensed. Hope this helps.
