Monkey and Monkey 2 are cross-platform programming languages from Blitz Research, game oriented, which are now open source but abandoned by the author. so we see forks like Cerberus and now Wonkey. i tested a few examples. it's impressive what can be done with these languages. the syntax is easy. Wonkey has an advantage over Cerberus. it allows you to compile examples of Monkey 2 source codes. to be seen on the long term...

Monkey 1 became Cerberus-X and Monkey 2 became Wonkey. Both languages look nice. Thanks for testing! Good!

One major issue of Blitz language families is the obsolescence of the old products, the BB2D/B+/B3D/BMax/Monkey/Monkey2 are nice products, but lacking time to become mature, Mark Sibly keeps trying to re-invent the wheel, and old products are mostly are left gathering dust. Blitz3D is one of the most long lived product, but mostly it receives fixes rather than core upgrade, for example, during the late lifespan, many game programming languages are developing unicode support, but it didn't happen on B3D. In contrast, PureBasic is still receiving updates.
However, Mark is a talented coder anyway, I really want to know how things are going currently, from his Github activity it seems he is still busy with coding, hope he good luck.
