i tested it. amazing multi-platform development environment. the language is based on basic. very simple to use. accessible to all. makes game programming easier. it's impossible to make it simpler. the examples show the power of the language. there is also a gui. strangely, there is no real compilation in machine language but a javascript generation. there is a version of yabasic which does the same thing. i was doubting before about javascript capabilities but after seeing the resultas, it's pretty efficient and fast. aoz studio will allow to create standalone executables or launched on internet browser. the documentation in pdf format is excellent. it's possible to use the language for free for personal projects otherwise there's a license to pay to distribute the created programs... see Cybenet : www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMoTk1Uo3Ucit is not limited to games. it is possible to create any kind of program...

Hello, your review is good and in detail. i tested it. amazing multi-platform development environment. the language is based on basic. very simple to use. accessible to all. makes game programming easier. it's impossible to make it simpler. the examples show the power of the language. there is also a gui. This language looks really powerful. Fast? It is nice to hear this!! A good documentation is very helpful to new users! The game looks like a high-quality shooting game. The language is so useful! Thanks for writing this review!!!!!

I downloaded AOZ a couple of days ago... Installation, on Linux, was flawless. Initial startup was a little slow (but that was just a one time recompile)...
For a modest fee, programs created can be targeted, as joe2874 has already stated, for multiple platforms... or AOZ is completely free for personal use. User manual will require some reading... 200+ pages...
Loaded one of the examples... I agree with Joe, very much like Basic and should be quite easy to program... once one is familiar with some of the built in functions... If I can find some time today, I will browse through the manual, then have a closer look at the examples. I cannot promise that I will produce a 'chart topper' but I can assure you that it will 'not' be 'Hello World!'... lol
Thanks Kennn.

'free for personal use', really nice! 200+ pages? Well done! 'quite easy to program', perhaps it will be very popular among new indie developers. Ok, you will make a very excellent example.

Couple of points... The last two...
1. "perhaps it will be very popular among new indie developers." I hope that you are correct. But, knowing young developers (my grandson included) as I do, a lot of them are looking for "rapid" development... For example 'click and drop' type engines... Seems to be a trend of, "I want it and I want it now" type of generation... Basic, or languages that require as much coding as Basic, is time consuming and may not lend itself to "immediate gratification".
2. "Ok, you will make a very excellent example." You give me too much credit but I thank you for the compliment. If I could make a "good" game, let alone "very excellent" game, I would either be teaching others how to program or making a living by programming... I am afraid that it will take quite some time, for this hobbyist, to eventually reach the skill level of "good".... lol
I will work my way through the tutorials first... Just to find out how easy this package is... Sounds like fun!

Ok. Update.
Hit a major snag... Several times I have keyed in code and ran it and it performed as usual... But, several times, it crashes... "This version is out dated" then the AOZ Studio shuts down. No option to save. Just dies. I am running the latest Linux version of AOZ. I am guessing that this application is still quite new and all the bugs have not been ironed out yet. I am also going to guess that the Windows version will probably be the one that works best. As I do not run Windows, this will be as far as I go... Hopefully things will improve "down the track".
*sigh* On to the next project....

It is still actively developed, they have an active discord. Linux and Mac's new versions are coming out shortly, or so they say. I ran the one benchmark that johnno56 posted:
'simple benchmark...o2bas 'Declare Function GetTickCount Lib "kernel32.dll" () As INT Dim start Dim endtime 'int n 'float r start = timer for n = 1 to 100000000 r = n*2-sin(88) next endTime = timer result = (endTime - start) / 1000 print "completed in: " + str(result) + " seconds" update() RC on my laptop did it in 18
AOZ Studio did it in 49
So not the greatest, but the software is interesting.

The development team is actively developing the software? It is great news! However, the result of this test means that RCBasic is still much more faster than AOZ Studio? Good job!!!!!!!
