Avatar was an attempt at 8 bit art... As far as the imagination got I am afraid... lol
Coding-wise... Conversions. Trying my hand at converting stuff to RC from QB64 and Naalaa and back... Nothing huge. Just some classics like Mastermind (almost) etc... It is amazing how different engines do things 'slightly' different... Random number generation; String handling and those mongrel goto's (some of the goto's I can figure out... but those that jump subroutines and head of to who knows where... grrr... lol
Normal stuff... Hopefully, all of our Covid restrictions will be lifted in July, then everything should get back to normal... Things are starting to head that way already... Working from home is no longer 'required' so more people can travel to work... Fuel companies have swooped on that opportunity quicker that a seagull on a french-fry and have jacked up the petrol prices. Pre-Covid about AU$1.45 / Litre... Now, it is on average about AU$2.24 / Litre Prices on just about everything is going up... Obviously trying to make up for lost revenue over the past 2 years... Only problem is, Australia's 'minimum' wage has not been increased since 1-Jul-09... Something 'has' to give... Prices cannot keep rising.. There is little to nothing else to 'trim' from our weekly budget... grrr...
But, other than that, we are doing fine. One day at a time... We have been told that Winter has set in... But, for those of us who live in Melbourne, we probably did not notice... brrr... lol

johnno56 Its great to see you are still at it on conversions. I am working on some cool new demos for next release (mainly to show off a couple of new features). But I have also been working on some other projects I have been wanting to pursue that are not coding related. I feel your pain on these gas prices. I drive a Truck so gas has been crushing me. I live in the US and we have not really seen any change in minimum wage in a long time either but most full-time jobs in my area pay pretty well. I have been a little off the radar recently but the next version of RC is coming along. I hope to have more info soon.

Yeah... I would not say that my conversion rate is slow... but, the word 'glacial', springs to mind... Even though I find conversions frustrating at times, I actually enjoy doing them, just to see if I can. Very few get to a workable state and even less to the point of publishing... lol One day at a time... I suppose conversions, to me anyway, seem to be the 'easiest' way to program. Coming up with new ideas for a game has always been my largest hurdle. Ha. That is probably why conversions are easier... someone else has already done the thinking... lol
I have been on this planet now for many years... I have seen the introduction of "Pong" all the way up to today's "movie quality"-type games. You would think that with all this information, coming up with ideas for games, should be easy, right? I would like to say that I have grown up with the classic, but that would not be true, as I was already married before the classics began... To be honest, I enjoy the old games because they remind me of 'simpler' times... and besides, my reaction times are not as good as they used to be... lol
It is almost 9am in Melbourne and today (Monday) is a public holiday (Queen's Birthday) and I have not made coffee for my wife and I... To preserve the peace, I now know what my next idea is about... Have a great day!
