Hey N00b,
You will 'not' believe this! I am actually using RCB Studio to cobble together a program! No. Geany has not "carcked it". I finally figured that it would be better to use the utilities created with RC to create stuff for RC... lol
Successfully setup a project. Loaded in my program. As suspected, the program failed to build.
I ran it via Geany... "Segmentation Fault" and "exit code of 139". I have seen this associated with an incorrect array element (?) But the message did not indicate at which point the program it died. Re-ran using RCB Studio, in the hope of being provided with more information... As suspected, it again, curled up its toes and died. But, it did say to "Check the build log for more details". My only problem is that I do not know where the log file is located. lol
Any assistance, to find the log file, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...
J
ps: I miss the old qbasic error messages like "syntax error in line such and such" lol Oh so much easier to trace errors... lol

I have actually corrected the fault (as suspected an incorrect array field) and will post the sample...

johnno56 The log its referring to is the window at the bottom of the editor with all the build info in it. It will tell you about syntax errors but it does not have any info about why your program fails at runtime. One of the big things I am working on for the next release is a debugger that will be built-in to rcbasic studio. Its been quite a bit of work but it will be able to provide the line that failed at runtime. Thank for using RCBasic Studio more. I need people to provide feedback so that I can improve it further. Here is a list of changes that I am already working on for the next release: 1. Ability to execute individual files as well as projects. 2. Ability to drag and drop files on editor to open them. 3. Ability to disable parser (can be pretty taxing on some systems) There are also a few bug fixes coming as well such as the annoying bug that will prevent it from copying all files to projects on distribute. I am trying to make it function similiar to geany but provide an environment dedicated to RCBasic. Technically it would also work for sdlBasic as well if you replace the commands in the rcbasic_edit.config.

Well, as I stated earlier, I found the "random feature" that caused my "exit 139". But the "log area" stated that the file "compiled successfully". I should have made some screen shots to support my case. As such, you must take my information with "a grain of salt", until I can provide better evidence. I personally would not "close the door" on this issue... Let us say that I will keep the door "ajar"... just in case...
Well, you certainly have "a lot on your plate", at the moment... If I had the skill-set I would offer to help... I am just a mere "tinkerer"... not a "builder"... Missed that train many years ago... lol
Looking forward to the next RC version as well as any updates on Studio. One day at a time.
Thank you for your efforts. This user appreciates all that you do...
