When will this stop? lol Hey! Fascinated with particles... lol This is a conversion of an old SDLBasic particle demo. Do not worry if it runs slow... It did that with SDLBasic as well... This is just an exercise in conversion... Instructions: Point and click. LMB will produce the first "pattern" RMB will produce the second "pattern" CMB (Center Mouse Button - scroll wheel button) change particle size (not precise) (if no CMB - use the left and right arrow keys) ESC to exit If anyone can improve the efficiency then please do so and re-post... Cool, I will try to look at it today when I get off work.

It is not much to look at except for being yet another example. I am trying to understand how a particle system works. Finding tutorials in Basic are either far too old or almost impossible to find. There are many, many tutorials in other languages (coding languages) but pretty much all of them are beyond my skills to convert. I would like to create a simple tool to modify any and all "parameters" of the particle system as well as visually display the result in 'real time'. I remember seeing something like that but I cannot remember when or where... *sigh*

I tried this out and its a pretty good demo. One thing you could try to improve performance is to use images instead of shapes. But to be honest, the performance is pretty good already so you probably wouldn't really notice a difference in this demo.

I ended up changing the demo... Instead of pixels, filled circles, small... Easier on my old eyes... lol I had thought about images but had not got around to it yet...
