I did not know where to place this post. "Help" was the closest I could think of. Help is not actually required but I figured I should let you know what happened.
After creating my project, with Studio, I then set about building the main file... I am trying to re-create the Star Trek game I put together with SDLBasic...
The usual stuff... Setup the windows and canvases; define the colours; load the assets etc Saving every so often... just in case...
Modified the main window to use 3 canvases for a "panelled" display. All three canvases functioned correctly. Started applying text to the canvases and noticed that my system had "locked up"... A Walt Disney... Frozen solid... No choice... Reboot...
The cause is unknown... On my old machine this happens now and again... But that is not the problem...
After restarting I then fired up Studio to continue... and that was as far as I got... The project was gone.. Not just the main file but the entire project.. Searched the system.. Nada.. Zilch.. The weird thing is, the entire project was there before I started working on it today... Yes. The project was created correctly in the beginning... I specified the location of the project. Created it. Saved a test '.bas' file. Navigated to the project, using my file system, and actually viewed the project.
Thankfully, I was not too far into the project when it froze, so no real time and effort was lost.
Another strange thing... my system error logs did not report any faults... could mean that the lock up occurred before an error could be logged... lol
I am not saying that Studio was the cause, but to let you know that on my system, the opened project disappeared after the reboot. I am leaning towards my system failure as the most likely suspect... I will start the project again... If it recurs then there maybe an issue with protecting projects when a system dies...
At the moment, this is just 'informational' and not an actual Studio fault report. I will let you know if anything else untoward happens...
My brain hurts again... lol
