Interesting concept. Store some files into memory. That could certainly save on disc space and make things a little faster but, on a low resource machine, disc space may be an issue. The only issue I would have with 'newer' machines, especially those that use an SSD, would you notice any increase in speed (file access) as pretty much all of those systems are already "sitting" in memory, so to speak... It is certainly interesting. If you end up testing this one let me know what you think? I would be particularly interested in performance... Thanks for the update!

From all the reviews I have read, Arch Linux - although being very stable - is recommended for experienced users... but yes, I have found that debian/ubuntu based distros are better... I have not tried Slackware... The name of the distro does not fill me with confidence... lol
Speaking of Debian based - I actually downloaded the current Debian 11 ISO to give it a try on a spare drive... The ISO was only 400mb and soon found out why... It was only the "core" of the system. Once the core was installed I was given a list of desktop environments to install... The desktop (with its appropriate files) were then downloaded... almost an hour later it finished installing only to be told that there was a "bug" and the "microcode" need to be updated. No instruction on how that was to be done... The cursor just sat there and "blinked" at me for ages... I had such high hopes for Debian... Oh well... I still have Mint...

ahh sorry to hear that..yes it is strange that Debian core ISO was bug...hmmm well all this arch distros are strange ,they don't have standard loader like debian/ubuntu based installers or boot loaders and i think that are resource hungry....and Yes Mint is fine.

Old Slackware have less bloated kernel and maybe because of that is faster but every arch is too heavy maybe Manjaro is the most stable arch
