If you are using RCBasic on Linux, I made a video covering issues related to stability. Its not long and I highly encourage linux users watch it.

I have been keeping an eye on different distributions and have noticed several of them mentioning Wayland. I can understand the logic in the change. After all, X11, has been around since June of 1984... 39 years! Obviously someone has decided that a "change is as good as a holiday". But, then you have those that repeat, "If it isn't broken then don't fix it". Pointing out the "apparent" flaws in Wayland will be voiced until all issues can be addressed.
I can remember when MS was releasing a new OS (cannot remember which) and manufacturers were hesitant to release new hardware drivers because no one knew if the new OS was going to be around long enough... I know it's not the same as X11 vs. Wayland but surely it will concern a lot of Linux users and developers... But, I suppose, that this is probably a side effect of progress... All we can do is hope that, whoever is developing Wayland, gets it right and quickly... In the meantime I have X11 and Wine...
Cool video... Thanks for sharing.

Wayland has been around since 2008... I wonder why some Linux distros are thinking about using it now? 15 years to work out the bugs? lol Maybe it has taken this long to work out if Wayland will actually work with Linux... lol Oh well... I hope they work it quickly...

as far i understand this wayland is protocol but i doubt that it is really better... well is there a proof for that let say same distro with x11 and same distro with wayland then compare how work .. is there any such a test ...i have never read nothing about do you?

I have not heard of a test either... Github is saying that Wayland, although performs better than Xorg, "breaks" a lot of stuff. Check out... https://gist.github.com/probonopd/9feb7c20257af5dd915e3a9f2d1f2277
You would think that Wayland would have fixed all these problems since it came out in 2008? LOL

What is really bad is that a lot of distros are not even shipping the option to use X11 anymore. Fedora only ships wayland now and I think Ubuntu will probably move that route soon to. This roll out could end up being a disaster for Linux.

I suppose Windows/Linux users may have gone through similar fears when shifting from 32 to 64 bit? Change can be scary at times, more so when those that are making the changes, seemingly have not "crossed all their 'T's and dotted all their 'I's" by making sure that Wayland can do 'everything' that X11 can do, "before" making the change... But, there may be an ounce of truth in what you say... potential disaster or perhaps a little paranoia on my part? Time and many, many, many patches will finally tell... I am keeping 'my' fingers crossed...

Cool... That version was released on 12th July 2013... I would be interested in what you think of that particular version... I switched from Ubuntu to Mint 13 in May 2012...
I am curious... You seem to be concerned about the "size" of the OS. Do you have hard drive space or CPU speed issues or are you just looking for a functional "lite" OS? Not judging. Just curious.

Yeah... LM15 will probably have some compatibility issues with up to date apps. But there shouldn't be too many... Fingers crossed... lol
