Ok. Someone has been busy! I particularly like the last one. Cool. That is my favorite also. When we know the direction n00b is going, then we can animate! Make a splash screen.

I think we are all in agreement on that logo. Can you take another stab at the text? The R looks kinda like an A.

A better idea johnno56 how is your site banner coming, what font are you using so I can add to logo to match.

I think the leaning is towards your multi-coloured logo. The one I was making was a little, ok a LOT, overboard... lol as such I have ceased that one.
But the font I used was Walkway Bold. This was used as a 'base' and, with a bunch of gimp effects, produced what you have seen.
The font itself is too thin for what you are probably looking for... My advice would be to find a font you like, use "bold" for the banner and "normal" for the logo. As to which font you could or should use, based on the number of fonts available, you have your work cut out for you. I will look through what I have and see if any will suit. If not I will search on-line. Your design has a slight 'mechanical feel' to it, so I will start my search there... Are you using your current design as a logo or a banner?

n00b,
What are the dimensions (approx) for a "Banner" and "logo"?

I was intending for it to be just a logo...also a starting point for a splash screen.

Here is a quick concept. Do you have a clearer image of the logo itself? The Text and logo look a bit different. If not. No problem. I can modify the text to look like the logo... lol

Wow, I think you guys did an incredible job on this. Once tbird uploads the full image I will make the icon to ship with the next release. The next release is not going to be a huge release, just some optimizations and performance tweaks. I am looking at End of May hopefully.

But I have a question.
Photoshop is popular but looks complicated. Do both of you use Photoshop to design graphicsl?
Or use other drawing programs to make graphics?

I use Gimp (very similar to Photoshop) except it is free...
On the surface of both Photoshop and Gimp, yes they look complicated, and can be a bit intimidating as well. The old saying, "The best way to eat an Elephant is one bite at a time.", is quite correct. I am not saying that we should eat Elephants... lol Any job, no matter how big or complicated, can be done one step at a time. There are "many" tutorials for Photoshop and Gimp. Start with the basics and work up. It won't happen overnight, but with some patience and a lot of practice, you will amazed at what you can do. My advice: Tutorials, tutorials and tutorials.
For games that use simple graphics, MSPaint (or something similar) will do just fine. If your drawing skills are like mine, graphics editors and free sprites, are another way to go... lol
If you have ANY questions about creating your own graphics, just ask...

J Detailed explanation again! You explained well! Thanks. MSPaint is easy and simple. I think that it is a convenient tool. Gimp and Photoshop are complicated. You must have spent a lot of time on learning Gimp, well done. I will also try my best to learn how to make beautiful graphics.

I have an HD image but it would be overkill for a logo and also too large to upload on here. The writing and Font is entirely up to you johnno
