Also for the previous comments I use Pinta for all pixel related things, it has enough features for me, and for vector graphics like the logo here I use InkScape...both combined probably don't have the features of GIMP or PaintShop Pro but they work for me and are "simpler" lol.
It's ok I wrecked it many times before I got to that point lol.

Cool. I also have Pinta. It was part of the OS packag and I haven't even used it yet! Looks like I'll have to take it out for a run... Also have Inkscape but have never been brave enough to get familiar with it... gulp... So far I have managed to get the logo down to 250x250. It's beginning to get a little pixelated. I also had to create a similar colour gradient to cope with the reduction. Not too sure if it should reduce any further... I will try some other tweaks.... This is the 250x250

Here is the .svg file open it up in InkScape and you can scale it to whatever you need. Or here is two different smaller sizes.

Hi,
I don't know how to describe. The logo looks like a fascinating riddle. Many people may be very curious after appreciating this innovative logo. Then they may really want to download RCBasic.

This is the modified logo. The svg logo imported clearer but Gimp converted it to a png. It's better than the earlier version but it looks like I'm going to have do a crash-course in Inkscape... lol Thanks for the image Tbird. Much appreciated.

Hi, If Inkscape is better than Gimp, I suggest that you also use Inkscape. The final graphics may be more beautiful.

I wouldnt say "better" just designed more specifically for vector graphics, in which case you can scale with no quality loss.

Here is a bonus logo. Use it as you see fit.... If you keep and use it, fine. If you throw it away, even after all the effort put into making it, fine... lol Nah. Kidding.

Hey Johnno, I could definitely try to integrate that into the website. I am trying out different layouts for the website to see what will work with the new logo. It will give me something to work on this weekend. I think I can leave work early friday because of easter weekend. Its a good thing we have that easter function now.
On the topic of graphics, for all the games I made I used Aseprite. If you are just doing pixel art it is amazing.

Cool. That one was done using Gimp. Didn't even know it could do it! I didn't do it via a script or anything. Started with a 2d frame. Map the object. Rotate on the Y axis 15 degrees until 165 degrees is reached. Copy and flip the original frame and do it all again. 24 frames later...
If I knew how to use Blender, a proper 3D icon, could have been rotated....
I believe Aseprite has been around for a long time... Have you been using it long? Those old pixel characters will probably never go out of style...
