Would they move to Syntax? I personally don't think so. The one thing I do like about Syntax is that they host game jams. Out of curiosity, where I can find Syntax? Googling it became imposible due to, oh, well, the lot of white noise around the usual meaning of the word. Such a bad choice for a name... Hi....this URL, many BASIC experts: syntaxbomb.com/index.php?action=forum (add www.)

As I have said before, game jams are great for generating excitement, collaboration and inspires new members with examples that they themselves can eventually achieve. We may not have a sizeable membership like Syntaxbomb, but perhaps, we could do something like a jam "in house"... I am open for ideas...

A jam within RCBasic forum should be or will be useless because of a few members or the user base is too small. Maybe you will be the only entrant of this jam.

The purpose of an internal jam is primarily used to 'inspire' or 'encourage' those within the forum to be more creative and productive. The more programs we create, the better we promote RCBasic. Better promotion could mean more members. More members could mean a better chance of promoting RC through larger jams.
You are correct. We have only a few members. That can change.

Hmm... I do not have a problem with Blitz... I found it a little slow.. But that could of been because of the old clunker I had as a PC way back when... lol

"make programs in Blitz"? Nope. I had it installed and worked through some samples. I was impressed with the IDE and how familiar most of the commands were, but that was as far as I got. My old clunker of a PC struggled to run it so I moved on... But, it was a nice looking program, compared to most at the time.
It's just gone 7am and I have already had my coffee about an hour and a half ago... 'Anytime' is a good time for coffee...

Ok. SmallBASIC has a new user. One new person joined that forum because of a very heated discussion. It looks as if Syntaxbomb is able to help SmallBASIC to recruit new users.

Kennn, Yes, smallbasic is limited, but far from useless. It would be better if the developers would create a "normal" looking IDE for easier use. Perhaps the development team is not diligent enough. SmallBASIC development team tried to use syntaxbomb's sub-forum as the SmallBASIC's official forum and this is a nice excitement to all SmallBASIC users. Looks quite successful. I am very curious....what have you done in SDLBasic's forum?

Kennn,
I will address your concerns in order.
Like sdlbasic, smallbasic, has a small team of developers. It is difficult to tell how dilligent the developers are. Sdlbasic has one developer with almost no active members. It would be difficult for a developer to remain interested or diligent with so few members. I cannot speak for smallbasic. But they have more active members. Development is still ongoing. Current version, Windows, 12.20 release on Jan 8, 2021 and the current Linux version 12.19 on the 16th July 2020. Compared with sdlbasic I would say that they are more diligent.
I do not know the reasons for SB's move to Syntax. I am uncertain if the move has helped them increase their membership. But, what I do know is that, because of the move they will be now more noticeable to the Basic programming community. So, I will tend to agree with you on that point, in regards to success.
I was asked to moderate, by the Administrator, some time after our numbers dropped. Unfortunately, with so few members remaining, there was very little to no moderating being done. The busiest I had been was intercepting, purging and blocking unauthorized material. My home is now RCBasic and trying to do my best in moderating here... Fingers crossed. As I am relatively new to moderating, I am still learning...
