I have BBCSDL installed on my Linux machine and it runs faster than what I remembered of BBCbasic back in the mid to late '80s... For nostalgia reasons... Just like I do for Amstrad... Gotta love the old '8 bit'... What is the difference between BBCSDL and BB4W?

Hmm... Another good question. I will look into it, but for now, BBCSDL runs natively on Linux and BB4W is designed to run on Windows. I will try to get back to you with an answer...

Thanks for providing the URL! I want to ask one question. Do you have any suggestion on Rosy's project. The deadline is 24 Oct. What strategy should be used by Rosy?

As I have suggested before... When a new competition is announced, start planning the game, as soon as possible... If a solo performance... allocate time and resources to planning, creating and testing... If a group, plan who does what, work to a time limit, communicate, cooperate. Starting a project, with only a few weeks to complete, is a recipe for disaster. Some work well under pressure... most do not...
Hmm.. my suggestion... If rosy has the ability to plan, create and test a game within the next few weeks; If he has the desire and can work well under pressure; Then I think he will be a force to be reckoned with... Winning the competition is a goal in itself, but knowing that you can complete a game within the allotted time and knowing that you have successfully tried your hardest... Then winning would be "icing on the cake".
My suggestion for the rest of us... If your desire is to be better game creator, take the time to learn how to be better. Books; tutorials; videos; courses... What ever it takes... There is an old saying, "There are no shortcuts to success" and another, "All good things come to those that wait" and the ever popular, "Haste makes waste".
It's almost 1am. Got to be up in 4 hours...

The finished entry may surprise everybody. Rosy may use RCBasic to its full potential.

... or maybe Rosy has a job and programming is a 'spare-time' event... I also agree... Showing people what RCBasic can do is a great promotion for RC... No pressure, Rosy... lol

Your insightful opinions may be valuable help for Rosy.

Rosy, young padawan. You must obey your master Obi-Wan Kennnobi and his mentor Qui-Gon Johnno56. So, do as you're told.

Strong with the Force this one is, yes.... rcbasic.freeforums.net/thread/576/pongy-1k?page=1&scrollTo=5518Rosy looks confident. Actually, I think that you should also create an excellent entry for the contest since you have plenty of time. Furthermore, your finished games or demos are very nice promotions for RCBasic.

Kennn,
I may have plenty of time, but I am sorely lacking in desire and ideas... The last entry was completed on time because there were a bunch of us working on it... You know the old saying, "Many hands make light work". The best part was being able to bounce ideas around and co-operate. We didn't win but it was fun trying. Because I do not always produce great ideas, I tend to enjoy assisting those that do... Thank you for the vote of confidence but I am going to pass on flying solo... lol

I am sorely lacking in desire and ideas... You are so humble! In fact, you are creative. Please don't look down on your creativity. Perhaps your entry can really encourage many people in the RCBasic community to join syntax contests.(Eg., Rosy, Dottygame, etc.) Your entry positively influence the community. You should participate in every syntax contest in the future.
