Although DottyGame is a registered member at RCBasic, it would be difficult to determine the game or its core language, from the posts he has made at Syntax. My guess for the "Unfortunately..." could have been confusion. Note the date he posted on Syntax - Sept 24 - and the cutoff date for the competition - Oct 24 - maybe... either that, based on his personal avaiable time and his skill level, he probably determined that he may not be able to finish in time... But still... looking forward to seeing the competition results... One key control... Cool...

I am not sure if Rosy is a "games" person, but by all means, ask him... Then you will know for certain...

I told you that I can register there. Tragedy .. You can declare my game on my behalf ... You meant "I told you that I 'cannot' register there."? "You can declare my game on my behalf" <-- May Johnna56 help after Rosy finish making the game? But only one month left, Rosy, you may need to start making the entry at once. You can ulpoad beta versions of the game for members here to test. You will receive constructive feedbacks and suggestions.

Not my favourite band, but a lot of my friends liked them in the 90s. What's your favourite album, kennn?

Kennn,
I think that any game designer worth their salt would start planning an entry as soon as the competition requirements were announced. One month is barely enough time to "storyboard" a rough outline of the game. Perhaps, if everyone "chipped in", a working prototype may be created but I seriously doubt that it would have enough "wax and polish" to be an honest contender.
In my honest opinion, for what it is worth, whether an entry is made by a group or individual, several key components are a must. A purposeful plan; Desire to compete; A talent to both code and create assets; Time to complete the project; Presentation and a game play that would encourage playing again. Research the creation of the video game E.T the extra terrestrial.... That game was SO rushed, to meet the release of the movie of the same name, that it became the worst ever video game... lol
It's after midnight and I have to get some sleep....

Hey, I misread the deadline as Sept 24 LOL. And, what a pity, my game's core language is Microsoft Small Basic. But after this game, I will use RCbasic to make a game for a competition!

MS Small Basic is not suitable for writing a game, but we can do more using LitDev extension. I simply found it easy to write, and I wanted to challenge myself. And it has something like this! Make it super easy to use.

I would not write from scratch, but convert the ZX-Rajd into 1 key.

I am not a "Windows" person but have heard some good things about MSSB... dottygame may be correct when using it to make games (subjective term) but seems to be primarily aimed at our youth in an effort to either involve them or to encourage them to take up coding. A kind of 'Entry Level' language. I used 'subjective' deliberately. Pong is a game. So is World of Warcraft. Can MSSB be used to create Pong? Yep. So can RC. But neither of them will create WOW. Just about any 'Basic' language can make a game. The type of game is limited to the programmers imagination and skill and the capabilities of the language of the program creating it. Will MSSB create a 'good' game? The answer is obviously, yes. But the challenge is... 'who' will?
Not even 9am and I'm babbling already... *sigh* I need more coffee... lol
